# John W. Beach > Producer Of BEING HEUMANN, The Opening Film At TIFF 2026 John has over 25 years in the entertainment industry - starting as a literary agent at Paradigm and later with ACME Talent & Literary, where he was instrumental in the sale of Oliver Stone's WORLD TRADE CENTER w/ Nicolas Cage and YOUTH IN REVOLT w/ Michael Cera. After ACME, John and 2 other producers created Fortress Features, where he aided in the raise of Fortress' development fund. As the Director of Development, John sought out property for Fortress to acquire and develop into rich film/television. After surviving cancer in 2015, John followed his passions and started Gravity Squared Entertainment, a Los Angeles based management/production company. Currently, Gravity Squared has over 1000 books under their management, many being Pulitzer Prize winners and New York Times bestsellers. They currently have over 25 projects in various stages of development/production - including; developing and producing a feature film with Mosaic & Skydance with Will Ferrell (TALLADEGA NIGHTS, ANCHORMAN) starring and Adam McKay (DON'T LOOK UP, VICE) producing; optioned NOT QUITE NARWHAL by Jessie Sima to DreamWorks Animation TV, which is about a unicorn being raised by a family of narwhal, and currently has 2 seasons on Netflix; producing a feature film at Netflix with Marc Platt Productions (LA LA LAND, DRIVE) and Jennifer Lopez's, Nuyorican Productions (UNSTOPPABLE, HUSTLERS) producing, and a script by Derek Haas (3:10 TO YUMA, CHICAGO FIRE), which is based on Jonathan Stone's book, PARTING SHOT; and we're releasing Judith Heumann's memoir, BEING HEUMANN, in theaters and on AppleTV later this year, which we produced with Kevin J. Walsh (NAPOLEON, MANCHESTER BY THE SEA) and David Permut (HACKSAW RIDGE, FACE/OFF) and the Academy Award winning writer/director of CODA, Sian Heder, at the helm, writing and directing. The film stars Ruth Madeley (DOCTOR WHO), Mark Ruffalo (SPOTLIGHT) and Dylan O'brien (TWINLESS).
