For over 30 years I’ve watched political dynamics unfold—and I’m convinced that almost every crisis could have been averted had leaders seen it coming in time.

As a historian by training, I recognized this blind spot from the start. I have witnessed nation-defining decisions made for short-term gain or at the whim of individual leaders, detached from the deeper forces that truly shape a state’s course.

The fallout from such short-sightedness is always predictably severe. That realization—that the gulf between academic theory and political reality robs a country of its future—has guided my career ever since.

When I was invited to advise three Ukrainian presidents, several prime ministers, and the heads of key ministries, my mission was consistent: cut through the fog of PR and immediate interests, expose the fundamental risks, and craft a balanced, forward-looking strategy.

This blend of historical insight, strategic acumen, and an understanding of the psychological drivers of today’s politicians underpins all my work. It informs my nine monographs and more than 3,000 articles, and it is the methodological core of the research center I now head. We don’t merely analyze events—we trace their roots and project their future trajectories.
