As the President and CEO of Shane Global Ventures I help connect people, money & opportunities in a strategic way. I look at hundreds of investment opportunities per year, and I invest in roughly 1-2% of those opportunities. I negotiate great equity stakes in companies, which ultimately creates great value for my investors and the companies I invest in due to the value my team & I bring to the table. I spend time working with the leadership at different companies to understand their vision to ultimately help them get where they want to go. When investing I look for companies that have great leadership & good vision. I don’t invest in companies that I don’t understand and I don’t invest in companies if all I feel I can offer them is money; after all I’m not a bank. When coming into a company I use some thing I like to call the fresh eyes advantage. As Shane Global Ventures Genesis I Fund matures I find myself spending more time, supporting portfolio companies, helping them with recruiting, raising money, strategy, networking, marketing, etc.). I spend a great deal of time networking with talented, innovative people, and other VCs. Here at Shane Global Ventures, we look to invest in a A, B & C rounds. Some of the target areas we focus on are real estate, technology, and other vertically integrated opportunities. My time on Wall Street, and the time I spent as a commercial real estate broker lead me to have great lasting connections with many brilliant people in different sectors who’s expertise can be called upon. I spend a great deal of time educating investors whom are invested in other areas (that aren’t as passive) about how they can potentially get a much greater return with less work on their end by entering the venture-capital world of investments.
