# Alana Oates

> Shoe & accessories designer. Founder of Llani

Alana is a women’s fashion designer currently living right outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

She has over 10 years of fashion accessories design experience, helming the women’s shoe collections for independent and major retailers. In 2016, Alana founded the brand Llani. Originally launched as a slipper capsule collection, Llani has now grown to include shoes, jewelry, bags, hair accessories, and apparel.  

From 2014-16 she was the designer for Old Navy’s women’s footwear line, developing all categories from constructed sandals and casual sneakers, to their top-selling fashion flip-flops. Prior to that, she was the private label shoe designer for Anthropologie, creating 7 private label collections, including their highest selling collection to date. 

She holds a BFA in fashion design from Moore College of Art & Design.

Her experience has led her to cultivate lasting relationships with vendors, factories, and artisans in China, Brazil, Italy, and Spain.

In addition to her love of travel, Alana is  passionate about styling and interior design — she’s currently remodeling a one hundred year old home with her husband Fred and daughter Vivi. Designing the interior with items collected from her travels is her passion project.
