Former Autodesk Japan GTM Leader ($40M ARR) | Ex-Toyota Brand Strategist | Cultural Intelligence for AI & Tech Expansion

I fix go-to-market when cultural dynamics break it—whether you're scaling from Japan globally or entering Japan from abroad. 15 years building GTM in Japan and APAC at moments where strong products fail due to misalignment, not execution: **At Autodesk:** Scaled Japan SaaS from $0.5M → $40M ARR. Then extended the GTM model to Korea and APAC by adapting for local buyer behavior (not just translating it). **At Woven by Toyota:** Led growth for AI-powered SaaS during messy product-market fit—saw firsthand where AI adoption fails: team mindset, not product quality. **At Toyota:** Global brand strategy + digital transformation. Learned that Western playbooks fail in Japan not because they're bad—but because they ignore how Japanese enterprises actually make decisions. **Today:** I advise founders and enterprise leaders on: - Japan market entry (Series A-D companies) - Global expansion (Japanese founders scaling to US/EU/APAC) - Cultural positioning for tech/AI products - Cross-border GTM strategy when standard playbooks break I also built SignalGTM (market readiness diagnostic) and mentor Techstars founders on GTM, hiring, and international strategy. --- WHO I HELP **Japanese Founders Going Global:** You have product-market fit in Japan. But when you expand to US/EU/APAC, your messaging confuses buyers, your team thinks too small, your GTM breaks. You need someone who understands both Japan operator mindset AND global buyer psychology. **Series B-D Companies Entering Japan:** You're strong in your home market. But Japan's buyer behavior, decision-making, organizational structure, and risk tolerance are different. Standard GTM fails. You need market-specific diagnosis, not generic "localization advice." **Enterprise Leaders (Japan-based):** Your GTM works in Singapore or the US. But in Japan, it stalls. Why? Usually not product. Usually cultural friction—how you position, how you price, how you build trust with Japanese enterprises. --- MY APPROACH I don't give generic startup advice. I diagnose why your GTM is breaking—specifically—then give you frameworks to fix it. Most consultants say "localize." I show you how: positioning, buyer decision flows, trust architecture, and GTM design that actually work across cultures. I'm especially useful when you're stuck between "we have a strong product" and "why isn't this working in this market?"
