Asifa earned a Master of Architecture from the Rhode Island School of Design and later went back to school to receive a Master of Science in Real Estate Development from New York University. Prior to starting her own firm in 2006, Asifa began her career at the Guggenheim Museum designing exhibits for Giorgio Armani and Frank Gehry while teaching architecture and drawing classes at Pratt Institute. She then when on to work at smaller design firms, focusing on residential and retail projects including Anthropologie, Mavi Jeans and Urban Outfitters. Following this, Asifa wanted to gain experience in large scale projects, so she joined HLW, where she had the opportunity to design corporate offices for HBO, Google and Dechert Rhodes Law Firm. Shortly after leaving HLW, Asifa felt she needed to understand the internal workings of New York City’s planning rules and regulations, so she transitioned into a role at Department of City Planning, focusing on zoning regulations. In 2006, Asifa launched her own firm, a full service design studio, offering a spectrum of services, including architecture, interior design and decoration. With a design forward approach, Asifa works on all project aspects from conception to completion including schematics, design development, and construction details. To take a step further, she is also involved with specifications for finishes, fixtures, and furniture, including decoration items.
