Camden James Weis is an entrepreneur, technologist, investor, and advisor whose career has spanned technology incubation, frontier software, textiles, regenerative agriculture, and wellness. He is the Founder & Managing Partner of Camden James Ventures, a private venture holding company that builds and backs companies applying practical innovation to real-world problems. He is also a founding partner, board member, and the operating Chief Revenue Officer of Skillmaker.ai, where he leads go-to-market strategy, sales, and enterprise partnerships. Camden’s work centers on spotting early inflection points and orchestrating the talent, capital, and strategy required to commercialize complex opportunities. A North Carolina native, Camden launched his first venture in high school — an e-commerce apparel company that earned regional media coverage and sparked his interest in entrepreneurship. While attending business school at the University of North Carolina Wilmington, he was on the founding team of tekMountain, the technology incubator that played a key role in Wilmington’s emergence as a globally recognized startup hub. tekMountain supported hundreds of coworkers and dozens of early-stage companies, helping lay the foundation for the region’s growing innovation economy. During college, Camden also cofounded and scaled a custom-apparel platform with national production partners and a student sales force across more than 20 college campuses. He later led digital-transformation initiatives at DAS, an IBM Partner, across transportation, healthcare, education, finance, and public infrastructure — experience that shaped his systems-driven approach to solution architecture, capital alignment, and multi-stakeholder execution. As a venture builder, Camden has helped build and shape companies from inception including Skillmaker.ai (workforce development) and OpiAID.ai (substance-abuse treatment), underscoring his focus on applied innovation that strengthens human capability. He has been early to multiple innovation cycles — from coworking, to blockchain and open-source, to modern AI and frontier software — and was also early in recognizing regenerative agriculture and wellness as foundational systems for long-term societal resilience. He is a Partner at Painted Quarters, a Florida-based regenerative ranching operation spanning a growing footprint of managed land focused on producing nutrient-dense animal products while advancing land restoration and long-term food security.
