About me
Joanne Pasternack is the Executive Director for Laureus USA Sport for Good Foundation. A dynamic and visionary philanthropic impact strategist over the past two decades, Joanne has galvanized community engagement with internationally recognized brands including the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco 49ers, ServiceNow, City of Mountain View, and Special Olympics.
As the President + CEO of Oliver+Rose, Joanne worked with professional athletes, legends, entertainers, philanthropists, corporate executives and high net worth individuals to amplify their impact to inspire change around their areas of passion, commitment and expertise. Through this role, she co-founded and served as the chief strategist for Athletes’ Voices, launched in collaboration with Harvard University and co-facilitated by The Doug Williams Center and a consortium of the athletic conferences comprising 45 HBCUs.
Joanne spent twelve seasons leading philanthropic efforts for professional sports franchises in the NBA and NFL, most recently serving as the Vice President of Community Relations for the Golden State Warriors and the Executive Director of the Warriors Community Foundation. Previously, Joanne was the Vice President and Executive Director of Community Relations and 49ers Foundation for the San Francisco 49ers. She also served as the Executive Director of the Golden Heart Fund, providing a lifeline to 49ers alumni in need of financial, medical, physiological or emotional support.
Joanne holds a BA from the University of Pennsylvania, a JD from Santa Clara University, and completed the Executives in Non-Profit Leadership program at Stanford GSB. She is an Adjunct Professor at Georgetown University.
Joanne lives in the Washington, DC area with her family, including Kira (17) (the current Junior National Champion for USA Modern Pentathlon!); Reid (15) (Lacrosse, Football competitor!); and Bernedoodle Wesley. She has served on the nonprofit boards of Special Olympics, Bay Area Women’s Sports Initiative (BAWSI), Positive Coaching Alliance, SPKN, Wender Weis, and Beyond Sport and the corporate boards of the Women's National Football Conference (WNFC), iSport360, SeventySix Sports, Applied Silver, and Change. She was elected to the US Olympic & Paralympic Committee USA Artistic Swimming Board in 2020.
