Rachel Gogel (she/her) is an independent design executive and educator specializing in inflection points: those charged moments where brand, culture, and technology converge. Her career has grown alongside the rise of modern digital design, spanning influential roles at Facebook (Meta), The New York Times, and GQ. Since founding her solo consultancy in 2020, Rachel has partnered with clients from high-growth startups to global companies as a fractional creative leader—embedding deeply with teams during transitional periods to guide strategic change. Most recently, she influenced Airbnb’s Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics social-first marketing campaign for Italians and introduced an internal-facing cultural program for the QuickBooks design org. A devoted generalist, Rachel’s work ranges from reimagining editorial platforms and in-product visual systems to crafting pitch decks and book covers. As a passionate people manager and queer advocate, she amplifies marginalized voices through championing inclusion and pursuing projects aligned with her values, particularly women-led ventures such as Chicken & Egg Films, Pulse Fund, and Anew. Equally committed to nurturing the next generation of creative talent, Rachel has built curricula for institutions including California College of the Arts, School of Visual Arts, and The School of The New York Times. Her pedagogical approach for emerging designers emphasizes career development frameworks, personal agency, and financial literacy. Rachel also addresses industry inequities through her mentorship, writing, and speaking—including engagements at RGD DesignThinkers Toronto, TDC Brisbane, SXSW London, and Semi Permanent’s inaugural Tokyo Salone. Recognized on Forbes and Inc.’s “30 Under 30” lists (2015–16) and named one of “20 graphic designers inspiring us the most in 2025” by Creative Boom, her insights have been featured in PRINT, Creative Review, and Designfully. In 2026, Rachel moved back to her childhood city of Paris after two decades living and working in the United States. After hours, you can find her museum hopping, playing basketball, or hunting for the perfect chai spot. Learn more about her here: www.rachelgogel.com.
